Activities For Teenagers

February 16th, 2011

You can never have to many things to do as a kid. By that I mean fun activities for teenagers. After all as we grow up we begin to like the company of others more and tend to get bored when we have nothing to do. Teenagers love to experiment and try new things so this is perfect. Here is a list of some activities for teenagers so they can enjoy life more.

Activities for teenagers while inside

Greeting cards
One of the best activities for teenagers is to make greeting cards. Many of the materials needed for this activity are regular school supplies like, chart paper, scale, pencil, scissors, colors, glue, etc. You can make some really creative cards which you can then make a whole activity out of distributing them. One of my favorites is knock and run, knock on someones door and run before they answer and hide.

Competitions
One great way to spend time at home as a teenager is through competitions among themselves. With 2 or more groups and a judge to preside over it. You could do this for many different activities like singing, sports, and others. Singing could be done with one team singing a song and then the other team picking up using the last letter sung. You could score it by giving 10 points for each song sung, and subtracting 3 points from the team score for each incorrect song or song not sung. This could help improve the kids interest in singing.

Decorate the house
If the teenagers like to be creative and hands on then you could have them decorate the house, or just their room if your more comfortable with that. Teens can draw, paint, or add new art around the house. If they choose to draw or paint then you could pick up frames from an art store and mount them throughout the house. If you are really ambitious then you could have them paint the walls of a whole room to change the look and feel completely.

Fun outdoor activities for teenagers

Tug of war
I loved this game as a kid. This is a wonderful way teenagers can learn to be part of a team. Activities for teenagers such as this require that you have multiple teams. In this one each team will stand on opposite sides of each other. A rope is required and the center of it will be placed on a fixed point on the ground. The teens will then take up one or the other ends. Teenagers will stand one behind the other for there team. When the whistle is blown each team will start to pull and the one that pulls the other team over the center is declared the winner. This game is great at testing coordination as well as strength.

Service activities
I remember as a kid doing lots of social service. I would go and help at retirement homes, take food and such to the needy, do landscaping for different groups, clean up the highways, and many more. These were usually quite fun to do and let me see just how fortunate I am.

Shop till they drop
A shopping spree can be just the thing to do when you feel all couped up at home. Teens today have no problem letting you know what they like and dislike. So, take a trip down to the nearest mall and check out what items they have. Don’t forget to stop by one of your favorite restaurants while there.

These are just a few activities for teenagers that will give them hours and hours of fun. If you have some other ideas then by all means share them with the group and go have fun.
