Creating a regular bed time is essential not only for your child but for yourself.  With your busy day going to bed at the same time will help you get the things done that you need to.  It also helps to set the stage for later years with your child.  Aside from the same time of day, same place to sleep, you can also use the same clothes for bed time.  Using the same pajamas will help reinforce the idea that its bed time with your kid.  Starting this as a baby is the perfect time.   So with the perfect time lets choose the perfect clothes.

A baby sleeping bag for bed time is a great choice for multiple reasons.  They can be used all year round due to the various materials used. Since you’ll be using it year round the kids can get used to them even more easily if you change the material type.
Its also very easy to use, coming with or without sleeves.  They come with either zippers or snaps.  Zippers are less time consuming and super easy.  They even put locks on the zippers in order to avoid irritating the baby as well and keeping them from coming undone.
The easiest option for those that dont like to do much research or are simply crunched for time is by reading the Tog rating.  The lower the number on the rating the better it is for warmer temperatures.  The higher the number the better for colder temperatures.  Try a few out depending on how your child responds.

another wonderful thing about the baby sleeping bag is its use in avoiding SIDs (sudden infant death syndrome).  By using the bag you can keep the chest area at a constant temperature and avoid the need of having to use excessive blankets.  This is good because a child can get under the covers and have their face covered thereby re-breathing their carbon dioxide, eventually killing them.  Making sure your child is experienced sleeping in the prone position (on their back) will help ensure this doesnt occur.
Their are several types you can use, a chest only type, chest and legs and then you can vary the warmth factor.  By looking into these and knowing your child you can avoid the need for blankets almost entirely.  In addition this will decrease the toss and turn of the child throughout the night as its somewhat more difficult to turn over with it on.
These are all things to consider when you are deciding what to get for your child as they sleep at night.  While they can reduce the risk of sids and increase their comfort throughout the day make sure to consider all factors prior to running to your nearest store.
